    The Memphis Annual Conference

    United Methodist Women

    November is World Thank Offering.

Spontaneous additional gifts can be given out of gratitude for God's abundance and in celebration of the joys of life.

The World Thank Offering is an opportunity for individuals to respond to God's abundance and grace with spontaneous gifts of gratitude.

The funds collected are used in the total program of mission carried on through the Women’s Division in the United States and around the world

    Who we are...

United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice.

The organized units of United Methodist Women are a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; and to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of missions through participation in the Global Ministries of the Church.

ThIs goal is accomplished here at PFUMC through the work of the individual circles and the units as a group.

The General UMW meet quarterly usually in January, April, August and November on a Sunday after the 11 AM service. A lunch is served, with a short business meeting and a special guest speaker.

The PFUMC UMW is a part of the District UMW which is a part of the Memphis Conference which is a part of the Southeastern Juridical Conference.

    2012 UMW Officers:

UMW Circles, beginning in September 2010

The UMW is divided into small groups known as circles. The meeting times vary so that a woman can choose the best time for her throughout the months September–May .

All circles have the same mission to serve others locally, regionally as well as internationally. We support Reelfoot Rural Missions in Tiptonville, TN with money, work days and Campbell Soup Labels, Lakeshore Methodist Assembly other mission projects within our church. We support our children in elementary school with coats, hats and mittens when needed as well as graduating seniors that need invitations and/or clothing to wear for graduation. Our one main fundraiser each year is “Spring Gathering” in which all three units work together selling tickets, cooking and serving lunch to the community. We encourage members to attend the “Spiritual Growth” Retreat at Lakeshore each spring. We support the UMW READING PROGRAM by providing books relative to the issues with which UMW is concerned. The books are located in the Church Library

Circle meetings and other activities of the UMW are often announced in the weekly worship bulletin announcements, the newsletter which can be found on this website. Visitors are welcome to attend regular meetings and special events, and to become regular members. If you would like to receive occasional e-mails about up-coming UMW events, please contact Martha Campbell at
